Thanks Melissa, it is very nice of you to share your success story with us! I am starting my very first round of clomid 50mg days starting this thursday. Even if you do ovulate while on clomid, you still need the egg and sperm to meet, for fertilization to occur and then implantation. It induces ovulation by fooling your body into believing that there is less estrogen. Your chances of getting pregnant with Clomid are very good as long as you take it for the right reasons and have some tests done before to excluide certain problems. CLOMID SUCCESS FIRST CYCLE
Then again, if people are using charting and OPK's to determine when O happens, instead of the day number, it almost seems it wouldn't matter what days you take the clomid, within reason? I'm sort of thinking out loud. I got pg taking it days It made me ovulate on cd 16 and 17 I took it for two months. Most people I know who used clomid took it cd , and got pg.
Mommy StormRaven is offline. Last month I went naturally and ovulated on CD This month I am taking my 2nd round of Clomid 50mg on CD I read the same study about it increasing odds of conception and so far I'm on CD11 and it appears I ovulated. Let's hope this month is THE month! Thanks for posting about this. I'm interested in the study--does it have something to do with minimizing side effects due to low estrogen--like lack of cf?
I think I read that the earlier you take it the less it affects your cervical fluid I'm on my first cycle of Clomid. I did days , but I took it at night so it is close to I think if I go again, I might try nights I also might go right to IUI to cut out the cf problems. Anyway, I don't have a confirmed O yet and am really curious as to when it will happen or maybe it is happening right now? I did it both ways, and achieved successful pregnancies with both.
My first pregnancy he is now 13 the conventional wisdom was take it days , which I did. I ovulated day which was perfect for me, as my problem was luteal phase defect and I usually had very early ovulations at day 11 or so if at all, and I think they were ineffective ovulations at that. By my next pregnancy 3 years later--she is now 10 they were telling me to take it days I balked at that, as had worked before, but the doctor said that they were showing more success with clomid taking it earlier in the cycle.
As far as I know, there have been several studies showing that taking it earlier is a bit more effective. I took it for 2 mths mg days I also had an iui to avoid the cf issues. My doc had me taking it I tested every day day Fortunately, I had also begun charting and had a biphasic temperature chart suggesting that I ovulated on day Sure enough, my temp stayed elevated and I have had several pos.
I also saw a reproductive endocrinologist who advised me that OPKs are not accurate and that while taking clomid, you should be monitored by ultrasound, etc. I hope that I continue to have a wonderful healthy pregnancy and wish you all the best. I would suggest not relying solely on OPKs and to seek the advice of a Reproductive Endocrinologist if you are not satisfied with the fertility assistance that your ob is providing.
Good luck and I hope this helps. TRP over a year ago Hi everyone. I am new to all of this so bare with me! I just completed my first round of clomid 50mg Day two days ago. I am also on mg of metformin. When should I start looking for ovulation? If anyone has any advise I am more than open to it. Good luck to everyone!!
And God bless you all!! Guest over a year ago I remember a year ago looking at these stories, trying to see if anyone else felt as frustrated as me and my husband were trying to get pregnant, and looking for some hope. For us it was hard because he is active duty army and deploys every other year so we have years in between missing as we were trying.
I was not ovulating on my own so the dr suggested we try Clomid. I did 3 cycles of 50mg and did not ovulate so those didn't work, but the dr didn't track the ovulation. Then the last cycle I got moved to a different doctor and we were going to try one more time before he deployed and my dosage was doubled to mg still taking from day and the dr confirmed ovulation 3 weeks after my period I am now 13 weeks along and so far so good and due in July!
I know its frustrating, we tried for years, but there is the technology and meds out there to help, and clomid was our answer to our prayers! I found that if you save a little at a time you can manage it.
Have you tried personal loans? I am on my 1st cycle of Clomid and these are some of the things I have done to help with the costs. Guest over a year ago I took clomid the first month and no baby we at first kindof gave up hope.
